Not much working

I am not tech-savvy, and do not have a data plan. Only using my blackberry flip for phone and text messaging. About a month ago, only one out of 4 calls rang. Went to t-mobile, they updated some software - still didn't help. Went to t-mobile, they changed sim cards, still didn't work. I can't afford a new phone right now, and it keeps going from bad to worse. Now I have switched something around so that I can't read any texts, except as they come in if I happen to be looking at the phone. Also, about 3 weeks ago my call log began to only log missed calls, so I can't get the numbers of previous callers. Is there any hope! I am very bad at managing this phone, I just can't seem to get it to do what I need! Help! and thanks in advance.

If battery pulls (hard resets) don't solve the problem, I would suggest a reload of the OS. The carriers don't seems to know how to address OS/software issues, so your best place for solutions is Crackberry. Search around this site for the procedure for OS reload and utilities to fix. Many people who browse this forum do so to see what other users are experiencing. I started following this forum when my Tmo flip started rebooting itself regularly.

Thanks so much. As I said, I am tech-ignorant, so I don't know the difference between a reload of the OS, and a "wipe" - but as you suggested, I looked around, did the "wipe" and things are working again! Thank you so much for your help!
