Default Never thought i'd say this but..........

The 8220 is a damn nice phone! The 8100 was my first BB so the pearl always had a special place in my heart but after moving on to the 8320 i said i would never go back to SureType ever again. Got the 9000 and 8900 both great and then the Storm. Got a 8220 yesterday and although i always said it was a ugly BB and heard it was slow but its only a hair slower than my 8900 and running just great and now looks really classy. My only regret is i didn't grab one sooner.
    Device history: 8100 > 8320 > 9000 (brief) > 9530 (Ugh!) & 8900 > 8220 > 8120 > 8520 > 9550
    > 9000 > 9700 9650

BB tech: Got a problem? Feel free to PM me.

I too thought this phone looked a little sketchy from pics on the internet but once you have it in your hand and look at it at different angles, it's one sweet looking phone.

It's nice to have a small device and the flip is great for miss dial. I will look into one. I remember when I had my 8100 after a week I was typing faster than my friend with his keyboard.

Anyone have a fix for the carrier logo being shown on the external display? The clock was there but after removing VAD, wallpapers etc its gone.

    Thanks

Do a search and you will find some more info on this topic. You either did not include the Blackberry Attachment Service as one of your modules when installing the OS, or you deleted a *.cod file essential to running themes on your 8220.

You need to install the stock themes, even if you are not going to use them and the attachment services which is what opens the message previews on the external display.
