How do you change the track ball on the BB Pearl 8230 Flip?

The trackball on my husband's flip went bad and we need to replace it. How does one go about doing that? It's super easy on my regular pearl, but.....

RIM literally made it as difficult as possible to replace the trackball in a Flip. You have to completely disassemble the lower half of the phone. It requires a case separation tool, a T5 torx screwdriver, and a lot of patience. Below are links to a tear down video and all the tools and parts.
