Default Got water on blackberry keypad, crucial keys not working.

Hi everyone,

I have browsed through numerous threads regarding this issue on this site and have tried every suggestion (including rice and an OS restore) to try to fix my baby. It's been a few weeks and my phone still isn't working. I got a drop or two of water on my keypad and it instantly froze, my pearl moves around but won't do anything when i press it, and a few keys including the menu button and back key don't work. So it is pretty much useless. I'm just wondering if there is any step I have over looked to try and fix this - I am going crazy without my phone! It's such a tease, turning on and showing I have new messages but I can't access it! Ugh! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Think it's fried beyond repair? It's not fair - I know people who have dropped their whole phones in a toilet and it worked a few days later (thanks to rice) and I get a few drops on my keypad and it's dead! Agghh!

If the water damage was weeks ago, and you tried the rice-drying technique then, then there's nothing more you can do now.

The keyboard is part of the main board, so if it got shorted out you have to replace the whole thing. So the bad news is you need a new phone. The good news is, your phone's not DOA so you can use Desktop Manager to move all your mail, contacts, settings and apps to the new phone.

My Flip did a toilet dive last week but I managed to snatch it out and yank the battery in time.
