Downgrading software 8230>8220
Question guys, I just replace tmobiles bb flip with Verizons version of the flip and 2 things about it bug me.
1. The volume on everything from ringtones, alerts, music and youtube is noticeably MUCH lower on the 8230
2. Whenever message alerts come it, it pauses the music I'm listening to which is really annoying since I rely heavily upon my phone as an mp3 player (not the case with my 8220).
So, my question is, I noticed on my tmobile flip, my OS I believe was 4.6.0.151and my Verizons version is 4.6.1.234. Is there any way to downgrade the software to tmo's version, and if so do you think it will rectify my volume/audio concerns?
Thanks. - 08-28-2009, 11:44 PM #2
I don't think it's possible to use the GSM version on your CDMA device, but I have a suggestion. I've never tried this but maybe you could see if someone is making hybrid OS's for our devices (or try it yourself if you have the technical know-how), and investigate whether one could be made to include elements from both versions if the parts and drivers are interchangeable.

I know this is kinda random and its also random that im on this forum since I have a bold but I noticed the exact same differences between my VZW phones (pearl 8130 and curve 8330) and my AT&T Bold. The vzw ones do the stupid thing when you get a message where it stops your music but my bold doesnt. maybe its just the verizon devices but idk man.
