Default battery life suddenly terrible

the battery life on my 8220 has suddenly started to suck quite badly. it can barely go a day on a full charge even with minimal texting/talking. no apps running in the background...

the only thing i've installed recently is Final Fantasy but the battery life is still terrible even if i pull the battery to reset and don't run the game at all.

bought a cheap knock-off battery on ebay and battery life seems about the same. the phone is only about 5 months old and has had great battery life up until now.

running the stock TMobile OS 4.6.0.180

any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Follow the battery tips link in my signature. Start with an upgrade to OS 4.6.0.308. The stock OS is a piece of crepe.

If you're using Desktop Manager 5, it will only list the carrier sanctioned .151 and .180 OSes. Exit DM 5 before you start the install; at step 4 of the .308 install, connect the USB cable and run loader.exe from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\.

I had the same issue and it turns out that the bluetooth wasn't enabling anymore. I believe it kept trying to enable bluetooth that's why it's draining the battery. I got it exchanged for another one.
