All exterior buttons have stopped working

The volume rocker as well as both convenience keys. The volume rocker can't be used to change volume in calls or in applications. I used to press the convenience keys a lot just to get the clock to show up--I used my phone as a watch, basically. I can't do that anymore and it's very annoying. Any ideas why all three of these buttons would fail, apparently at the same time, and if there's anything to be done about it?

yea , it's pretty slow .. i was changing the volume and it took like a few seconds to change
