Noob question - getting theme onto BB

Hey, uber noob question: how do I get the theme onto my Blackberry? I have before tried to download a ringtone onto it and that failed miserably. I've only ever gotten backgrounds and ringtones when browsing directly on my BB, through cellsea.com. I'm seeing so many cool themes that I want one, but don't know what to do. Please be kind and help? ... :-)

PS: I work on a Mac but I dual-boot, so I have DM for both Windows XP and Mac. And I have a BB 8220 Pearl Flip. :-)

Many theme websites (i.e., PimpMyBerry.com, Themes4BB.com) have OTA (over the air) downloads. Direct your BlackBerry's browser to a site, find a theme, click the OTA link (if available) and it downloads.

And what if I do not have a data plan on my BB and therefore cannot use the browser without it costing an arm and my first born child?...

You'll find most theme creators only offer OTA downloads. Some offer Desktop Manager files--they will usually be posted as .zip files.

The only other way to install OTA files without a data plan is to get the .jar and .cod files and use something like BBFileScout (a file manager) to install them. You would have to ask the theme's author to send you the files.
