What is Wi Fi and does my 8130 pearl have it? What is it for and what's so great about it?

No your device doesn't have wi-fi. The pro's of having it are, wi-fi browsing speeds. Free calls over wi-fi. When no signal is available you can use wi-fi, like if in a building.

In Atlanta pretty much anywhere you go has Wi-Fi now, so it really makes 3G look like crap :P

Ummm... I am not sure. That would be nice but I never really followed wifi very closely before. Now that I have it on the Bold, I will pay more attention.

Wifi gives me UMA access where my carrier gives me less then one bar on average.

The geek toy sites offer Wifi finders in all kinds of packages, including a T-Shirt with a Wifi signal that glows brighter with more bars.

    Yep, it's amazing! Hehe.....

You can connect your pearl to Wi Fi and browse fast(er) speeds doing that. At home my pearl is always connected to my WiFi router.

Hey sorry no replies to your question yet, so here is a list:

    802.11a/b/g

    Blackberry Bold
    Blackberry 8820

    802.11b/g

    Pearl 8120
    Pearl 8220 (flip)
    Curve 8320

    ---

Basically if you wanted to "upgrade" to a Wi-Fi and keep the same feel of phone you have, go with the Pearl 8120.

    Hope this helps.
