1))) I keep trying to configure the right options on this, but I find it really super annoying the screen fdes to black so fast after your working in it! I have a pearl 8130.

2))) Why does a little RED light blink on top of pearl?

1) It's a battery saving function. It's adjustable by going to Options> screen/keyboard>> scroll to Backlight Timeout>> max setting is 2 min,

2) red LED is a new message. Goes away after viewing the message or after 15 min.

The screen's backlight shuts down to conserve power. You can change the setting using Options / Screen/Keyboard.

The Red LED means you got mail.
