Where are my incoming SMS???
Have a blackberry pearl 8130, sprint is my carrier...things that I have noticed since my upgrade on the OS .131 about 3 months ago.
1. The screen lags when coming out of sleep mode
2. I noticed that all the sudden all incoming texts have been deleted(all that is there is what I have sent) and I stop receiving SMS. I will take the battery out and then I will start receiving SMS again but don't get the messages that were sent prior to the stoppage...Any one else having these issues....Please help or else switch to PALM PRE here I come!! - 06-26-2009, 02:54 PM

Sounds like you're low (possibly very low) on free memory. The pearl doesn't have a lot and will eat SMS's, e-mails and such to save space, once it gets below a certain number.
Go to Options - Status and tell us what number is under file free. Anything under 12MB (depending on your OS version) and things start getting a little hinky.
Make sure you have a media card installed and store all ringtones, wallpapers, pix on there.
Delete any apps and 3rd party themes you installed but are not using.
Upgrade your OS version if you feel comfortable, newer versions have better memory management.
Do a search for "memory optimization procedure" for some other tips. One person can make a difference.

I have noticed that the phone is slow to come out of sleep mode too. I've seen other posters mention this in other threads also.
As for SMS, I never have a problem with that. I would suggest following the memory optimization mentioned by LDubs. - 07-01-2009, 02:33 PM #7Mark

I am having the very same problem, though I really don't think it is a memory problem. Low memory leads to the device deleting all messages--incoming, outgoing, call logs, and so on, not just incoming texts.
My phone has enough free memory and I have very little added or stored on it, but regularly deletes all of my incoming messages.
Does anyone have any other thoughts?

The Pearls run out of memory quick due to the suretype. Check out the first thread in my signature for memory help.
@the cubbies you have an 8830 which has a full qwerty keyboard, so you don't have the suretype problem. So I am not sure for you. - 07-18-2009, 08:43 AM #10-all bleeding stops eventually-
