What's up with the "ghost" section at the top of the screen?

I have searched for over two and a half hours so I appologize if I missed something. I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of the "ghost" type line that is applied over every image I try and use as a wallpaper. I think the BB needs it there to display the header info and whatnot. I hope I am clear on what I am trying to explain. Depending on the color of the image I want as my wallpaper it seems to be worse or not as noticable. It seems to be the top 1/4 of the screen on a Pearl...

It's part of the header that displays time, signal strength, icons, etc. I think it'll be hard to get rid and it'll require some kind of hack.

I've got the same thing. It's most noticeable on a black wallpaper. On a bright, "active" looking wallpaper, it's not nearly as obvious.

Some themes don't have the Zen banner - I know the O2 one doesn't. BB Dimension does, however.

It's just part of the theme.

Themes4BB will have one without a banner.

Yeah the banner is theme related, try different themes Greenbean to find the one you like best.

Depends on the theme and the color of the wallpaper. I use the out of box L theme and if you use a dark wall paper, you'll be able to see it.

Theme related? That is great news!!! The first day or two that I had my Pearl, it slipped from my hands and fell about 6" to the desk below and I thought that put the "ghost" section on my screen. I love the L theme and have always used that. Do you realize what this means???!!??? I know longer have to feel guilty about hurting my beloved Pearl!

Time to love a new theme!
