So I got my BB yesterday, and today downloaded the VibAndRing application (allows for ring tone/vibration at the same time). When I go to the Desktop Manager > Application Loader > Add, my computer doesn't recognize the install files.

Anyone know what to do about this? I would try OTA download, but my BB doesn't get internet access. I'd appreciate any help.

Tahartu, you have to install the cod file via the alx file. Check that both files are in the same folder called VibAndRing and then select the alx file so the cod file gets installed to the device.

Here is a discussion about the application:

And maybe you have to update the device software. Here is a link on how to do that:

I'm not sure if my Desktop Manager is v4.3 or not, so I'm downloading that right now. However, how do you install the cod via the alx?? I can't select either file, because whenever I go the the folder where VibAndRing folder is, it doesn't recognize any file and says "This folder is empty"

Edit: I was just able to see the alx file through my Application Loader, but when I select the file it says "No additional applications designed for your device were found"

I suspect that you need to download and install the DEVICE software to your computer before you can install 3rd party applications.

Can anyone confirm this? I am only about 80% sure this is the issue...

I've read that many places, but I'm unsure of how exactly to do that.
