I love my blackberry, when it works perfectly. I'd like to upgrade the os, but will it work with verizon still? I have been getting the hour glass from ****! Does anyone think that verizon will offer any deals, if customers want to upgrade to the curve who already owns a pearl? I love my pearl, but the curve is much more attractive!

On Verizon here... the update works fine. Just be sure to read the instructions carefully.
And BACK UP before you start!

Ditto. ON Verizon and did the upgrade. Works fine. Took less than 5 minutes

I am on verizon how do you know if you need to do the upgrade and where do you find it?

You don't need to install the update, just makes things work better. Helps with some memory issues.
There is a sticky at the top. Don't worry that it says US Cellular, it will work on your Verizon phone.

To find out what OS you are running Options>About

I went to option>about and dont see which one indicates my OS.

It will say 4.3.0.xx more than likely .60.

I'm on Verizon, and as the others have said, its no problem. I'm running .81 and its working nicely. Read the directions carefully and you will be ok.
