Hello, I'm thinking about upgrading my 8130 to 4.5, not sure if its 4.5.0.97 or 4.5.0.77? I haven't heard of it or whats different about it http://forums.crackberry.com/f79/813...0-97-a-140208/

Anyways, if anyone could tell me what is the difference between 4.3 and 4.5, from what I have heard, it isn't an improvement, less memory, problems and such. So I've been a little cautious about it. Also, whether or not little things are different, like message layout, or colors of any random things like the icons or anything really.
And if it is really worth it to upgrade it.

    Thank you all

Edit: And also, I read that 4.3 OS is 8mb, and 4.5 is 16mb's, so does that mean I am going to lose a lot of memory? I have 28119322 free now

from what i could tell you have more room then 4.3. 4.5 removes all the default wallpaper, and video that 4.3 had. I also have HTML Email which for me is a plus. I haven't had much trouble at all with this OS. All i can say is try it out at your own risk and if you don't like it go back to 4.3. 1 more thing if you like to download music to your berry, the media sync will not work for 4.3 OS. Media sync allows you to download music from your iTunes playlist to your black berry from you desktop manager.

I guess I'm gonna upgrade it, its not that hard to downgrade anyways but oh well. The thing is, I deleted pretty much all that stuff that they took off in 4.5 so I don't think I'll gain any memory lol

Its definitely worth it. I have noticed a memory leak with .67 (or whatever it is thats close to it) on 8120, but whatever just battery pull and its back. and how in the heck do you have 28 mb free!? I'm lucky to get 12 free.

This is indeed for the 8130 from Verizon. The OP posted the link in his thread. I upgraded to this on my Sprint pearl and I love it. No battery issues, or any other issues so far.

I haven't had a chance to do it yet but I will. The thing with me is I took off A LOT on my OS that's how I got so much memory. I was hoping that the memory leak would be fixed, cuz I pull my battery every night and it goes up to 28 and texting, calls and a little interned it goes down to 24, which isn't bad but sometimes it drops for some reason

The upgrade solved an mms issue I had with my phone. I could not hear other people after playing a multimedia message. It required me to wipe the phone to fix the problem. Since the os upgrade, I haven't had one problem.

Should I wipe my handheld before I load 4.5?
So let me get this straight
    back it up
wipe handheld??? password blackberry or something
    connect phone
    update now thingy
and then just let it do its thing for 30 mins or so?

I know basically what I'm doing, although I've never done it before, but when I explain it, it doesn't sound like I do but I'm just tired lol
