Default Using the Pearl without the data plan?

Hope someone can answer this question, cause I just get the run-a-round at Verizon..I had a Pearl and loved it for texting, but never used the web on it..seemed like a waste of money for the data plan. Back to a old phone but would love to have the pearl back without the data plan..Is this possible? I still have the pearl, just wishing I could use it for calls and texting..Thanks for any information.,

No, Nope, Never gonna happen.

Verizon requires a BlackBerry Data Plan on ALL BlackBerry smartphones. There's no way around it.

If you really like it that much, maybe you can buy it without a plan from some place like amazon or overstock. Or even ebay.

That will not work. Verizon will not allow any devices branded to another carrier to be used on their network, nor will they allow any BlackBerry to be used without a data plan.

I think T-Mobile is the only carrier that allows the Pearl without a data plan.

Pearl 8110 on TMobile works great with a talk/text ONLY plan.
