trackball barely works after housing upgrade :(

i've replaced the housing, keyboard and trackball on my wife's Pearl 8110
everything fits nicely and it's actually the 3rd time i've done this, so everything seemed to go on without a hitch.

however once all was in place i noticed the trackball barely works anymore for scrolling up and down... i need to scroll 3-4 times for it to move one row up or down, if it does move at all!

what gives? could it be that the new housing is malformed that the trackball doesn't sit right?

Could be the housing was manufactured incorrectly, or it could be the contacts are just dirty beneath the track ball itself. Rubbing alcohol and a q-tip will work wonders.

i cleaned the sensors and tried different balls.. no luck
i noticed if i press the trackball assembly down a bit, it works better.. which is why i felt the issue is to do with the housing being crap
