Is there a way that I can see how much memory I have left and what all is being used where straight from my device? I've done preferences, status, database sizes but that doesn't show how much mem my apps and **** are using. Thanks for the help

Go to options > Memory. It will display application memory, unit memory and storage card memory.

Yes, Options>Status. File Total and File Free are what you're interested in.

Oh sorry, didn't read the whole post before posting. But to answer your question, there is no way of telling where your memory is being distributed to.

I have a little over 35000 bytes free. How much should I have for it to run smooth? It seems sluggish. Can I check ram usage?

Oh wow!!! You need a little dose of this: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...-memory-34633/

10,000,000 bytes is a safe zone on the Pearl models. Anything less than that is pushing it big time!

I just post the OS! If you find a higher one, let me know.

    What you need is this:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f5/upgr...step-z-188139/

Just be sure to change the .alx to .old in CrackMem if you use DocstoGo. If your not gonna use it, don't worry about the change, it does take a lot of memory. When you do the guide, and then run DM, it will pop up with deletes for everything CrackMem removes from you OS. Just heed my warning about 4.7, if that's what's installed on your PC, unplug the internet before you start anything.
