Lately my 8130 bluetooth has been shutting down on my phone requiring a reset get the bt radio on again. I have the original 4.3 OS from Us cellular, my carrier, and this issue is new lately. In addition, I just got a new bluant v1 headset, and while it sounds great at my end, others complain of crackling and poor sound quality at their end. Could my bluetooth radio be going bad?
Us cellular will not replace the unit unless I upgrade the OS to see if that takes care of the problem. I really don't want to spend a day doing this onerous chore, but may be forced to.
Would appreciate input if anyone is aware of an issue or solution.
    Thanks much.

Upgrading the OS takes around an hour at most. It's worth the time, and not only for the bluetooth.

My Bluetooth died on me while using 4.5. I downgraded back to 4.3, upgraded back to 4.5 and even did a factory reset after that. Nothing worked. Had to file warranty claim to get a replacement.
