text ringtone

How do you change the text message ringtone. I want to assign a new ringtone and the instruction book is useless?

click on profiles icon, scroll down and click on "advanced", click on "loud", scroll down to "sms text" and you can change it in there.

Thanks I cannot believe how easy that was. Now I dont have to throw the new phone at the wall. I feel like you need a PHD to work theses damn things.

it's insane how much customization there is for alerts on the pearl. i was surprised when i got my storm, they simplified the alerts options quite a bit.

I absolutely agree! I've just Upgraded from my Nokia 6133 to Pearl 8220, and I am astonished at the lack of Editing/simplicity in the manuel.

There might be other options that I don't know about, but I think SmartAlerts does exactly that.
