I have the blackberry Pearl, 8130 for US Cellular. And I don't have text messaging, and do not want to really pay for the unlimited plan, since i have a 25 dollar data plan now. Is there anyway that someone can just text me on my blackberry email, and I can reply back through my blackberry email?
There are a couple programs that will do this, though I have not used any of them. sms2email is a free service (i think) that will do it, but you need to register another email address. txtForward is another, but it costs about $8 and can do much more that sms2email.
I would use it. But what I really want to know is, if someone sends me an SMS message to my Blackberry email, can I just reply back to it, like a normal txt, but it will show up on their phone as my email address? I mean, it avoids the whole text messaging package deal, doesn't it? Or is that not possible?
