does anyone know why my 8120 performs spontaneous restarts? I'll be in the middle of a call and suddenly theres a hard drop and the next thing I know my BB is restarting on its own, hourglass and all.

Welcome to CB. Could be a low memory issue. Go to Options > Status. What do you have listed for File Free?

so i have noticed that with the blackberry 8120, if you are using a memory card, you need to save all info to computer and reformat card. that help me!!

I don't have a memory card - yet. I haven't loaded any additional apps to the BB, so I figured the 'factory' load should at least be able to allow you to make a call! Oh well, I'll try your links and see if I get success. Thanks again!

okay, so I finally went to my carrier who xfrd me to BB. Apparently the 8120 is going through some bugs, so a known issue is "handset resets while on a call". It only happens while on wi-fi or gsm, so if you're making a call on Edge, it is supposed to work fine. I just got this info and haven't tested it yet. meanwhile the fix will come out with the next update or release.
