What is your free memory? If very low, you will lose the call logs and sms messages. It's not something you can control directly. Pull your battery with the phone on, leave it out for a minute or so, put it back. Check your free memory again. If low (10MB or so) then get the John Clark memory optimizer procedure and perform it.
