I have the pearl 8130 and just recently upgraded to v4.5. One issue I am facing is that since every time I do a battery pull to reboot my blackberry, and go into BlackBerry messanger, I get a message saying "You have switched to a new device, to keep messanger contacts, say Yes otherwise they will be deleted from messanger". Once I hit yes, the names show up under "Pending PIN confirmation". Anyone had this issue? Any resolution? Thanks.

I can't even find blackberry messenger. And when I try to download it OTA it tells me my pearl isn't compatible. Aside from that, my music folder and picture folder is screwed up.

How did you get BB messenger back on your pearl after the upgrade?

you have to install it from DM and the OS 4.5 you downloaded.

you cant use the OTA update because that version is for up to v4.3

I agree with that. It was already checked in DM when I was doing my update.

To the OP- I got the same thing when I first upgraded to 4.5. I had to delete my entire BBM contact list and resend the approvals. Otherwise they would stay in pending forever.
