    I'm finding that for whatever reason, my Pearl can't connect to the TELUS data network. It's worked find for a long time but over the last couple of days, I don't have any internet services on my phone. I have an unlimited data plan.

    When I try and reboot (via the old battery pull), nothing is fixed. Usually from my office (about 1000 ft from RIM, where I know they have service), I can get the 1XEV at close to full strength. But now, the only signal that I get is standard 1x digital. (at least it's strong)

    I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

    telus is off of bells network and and i have had no problems and if you talking about rim im in the waterloo region aswell. either your data is turned off or somthing is wrong with your phone you should take it in.

    I am having the same problem...no internet for the last 2 days. I also have a Pearl and am with Telus...any suggestions?

    I too also lose the EVdo connection. It randomly turns off sometimes. Any suggestions?

    I have had this exact same issue on 4 separate BB8130 Pearl units since we received them. On (almost) a daily basis, the connection is dropped from 1XEV to 1x and data transmission (BB Messenger / Email / PIN-To-PIN) is unavailble. Upon speaking with Telus 'support', the solution provided is to reload the service books (AGAIN!)...
    When I advised them that we're getting REALLY tired of reloading the service books daily, they sent their BB Specialist, who came to our office and performed a full firmware re-load on each of the units. Later on that afternoon: SAME THING!
    Is it even POSSIBLE that all four (4) 8130 units could be duds, or is everyone else on the CDMA network having these issues with the Pearls?
    This is getting OLD really quick - Does anyone have a better solution?

    Hi everyone,

    I also started having with my trouble internet on monday night. I just got the tour a week ago, before that i had the curve 8330 and NEVER had any problems with my data. I could not get any connection and it kept showing 1xev. I called them tuesday morning, and the lady "tried" to fix it and she told me to wait and if its not fix call back (she didnt even know what she was doing) and then I called back again and this other guy told me to resend my service books and register host routing again. My phone was still show 1xev (lowercase means not connected to data, uppercase means you are) he was telling me on his computer it was saying i was connected but when i went to my connections it said i was not connected. I did battery pulls and everything i could but nothing worked. so he gave me a ticket and told me to wait. i was really annoyed so i called back again and the lady told me they were having network problems...i was thinking maybe shes just lying because she doesnt know how to fix it. So my phone is still having problems connecting to the data network and sometimes I would get connection and i would lose it. It would jump from 1xev to 1X to 1XEV and EV to 1x to ev back and forth.


    Is this just my phone.....BTW im from toronto and my friend is from hamilton with telus and shes not having ANY problems with her phone at all.

    If there are other people that are having this problem , please let me know because if it is my phone I can still go in and return it. Thanks =)
