    It is not the Keyboard or Screen, the ambient light sensor is in the LED array.

    You can demonstarate this by covering the sensor for a few seconds. The keyboard and screen will both respond. The keys light up and the screen dims in response to the dark.

    I noticed that too and also thought I was crazy. Mine can be a little wonky on occasion but man, what an awesome feature.
