Default Pearl 8130 will not Synch

I recently got a Curve 8330 because my Pearl 8130 will only charge off of one USB cord attached to a 12v power converter in my truck. Was really tired of having to leave the phone in the truck to charge, so got a different phone.

Now, I cannot get the 8130 to Synch to download the address book and calendar. Is there any other way to get this information out of the phone? Any ideas on what to do to get the phone to synch.

As long as I can get the data out, I really to not care if the the phone is destoryed afterwards, so any ideas will help.

Thanks

Sounds like the port is pretty much shot. If you're good with electronics, you may be able to take it apart and solder the plug back (just heat it enough that the points melt again). If you're not comfortable with that, you will have to install a program like "lookout" or "google sync" or even the Best Buy program (can't remember the name, but it worked well for me), which will do backups to their respective servers, which you can then pull the information back down on the new phone.

You may also have some luck pulling up on the plug while it's connected to the computer, but keep in mind that you'll need to keep the pressure on if it does suddenly recognize.

Guess I will have to take it apart and play with it. Already transfered the service to the new phone, so there is not way to upload to a backup program. Wish I had thought about that before I had the carrier make the switch...
