Pearl 8110 Dead, Help Please!!!Please

Hello I'm New here.
I just recieved a Pearl 8110 from the states and Have it about 3 weeks now. last friday I was looking at some pictures and the phone froze up and then it went Black ( the Screen), the Red LED light contantly blinks while I have it on Charge but it won't turn on. I tried running the OS on it but my Computer won't recognise the device. what can I do, because I'm now stuck without a phone once more.

NB. the USB connection works well with everything else.

thanks Fubaz, I've pulled the Battery , but not for a day. the link you reffered me to , I've already tried that. my Berry isn't being recognized by the Desktop Manager. so I don't know what to do.
