Hey guys. Is there a way to password protect a specific folder? I know I can protect my bb as a whole but it would be great to protect specific folder. Any ideas?

thats suks since the
BB is supposed to be so secure.
when it comes to password protecting.
Motorola is the best.
you can lock anything with Moto's
which is awesome
Yeah that does kind of suck. You'd think it'd be easy to implement though. Try posting this post in the developer's forum and see if someone can develop it.
OMG why do you keep bothering me?
i never said the the Moto is more secure....
i said they are better when it comes to password protecting
anything you want.
the BB should be like that since its sooo secure.
leave me alone Jsander gosh
All im sayin is for the average phone user.
someone ask to see mah phone.
i say sure.
they go straight to the text messages
and media.
if i i had a moto i could simply lock anything
i wanted to keep private.
the AVERAGE phone user not
some coroport big head.
so when someone aske to see my BB
i simply hide the icons

well explain to me how to lock my text messages and media as that would be realy important to me.
i would appreciate the help.
i dont mean the whole device itself,
but certain individual apps.
thanx
Options > Security > General Settings > Enable Password.
So simple and secure.
However, I am sure you will say that is not what you want, but it is what you get... RIM did not build the BlackBerry for junior high use, but for higher corporate standards. While this would be a good option for some, it is not one today. And that does not make it less secure than your "Motorola is the best" device.
I'd beg RIM not to dumb down the BlackBerrys to the lowest common denominator user, but I do fear that is about to happen.
im in high school.
and how is locking down certain apps dumbing down the phone
and i didnt say that Moto's are the best i said they are best when comes to locking anything you want too for the average user.
i though the pearl was for consumer also??
yea pretty sure it is.
and RIM is thinkin to make more profits i do believe.

Call it mean if you like. I apologize, it was certainly not intended as "mean".
I did intend to point out that your statements were simply blatantly incorrect as far as "when it comes to password protecting. Motorola is the best." If that were case, the large corporations, your CIA , FBI and major governments around the world would be demanding the Motorola. But they aren't.
And I dislike the word "suck" or "suks" as you stated. You probably really do have a larger vocabulary than that. Same with "mah" for "my". Why (or whah?)?
yea to explain that.
im 17 which means i txt ALOT
and i use slang.
and yes i kno when to use the correct speech.
mah is a word i like.
but once i again i said for the average user.
gosh man you have to read closely
just as i was told before
ya,
thats secures the WHOLE device,
i so took that off 2wks ago.
i want to secure certain apps.
not the BB as a whole.
but thanx for trying.
I understand what your talking about. not password protecting or locking out the entire device, just certain applications you dont want the whole world to see should they happen to use your BB "to make a call" . and next thing you know your explaining who sent you this picture, or who sent you all these text messages or they are rumaging thru your phone book. Its not always even a matter of infidelity it could just be the opposite, your "buddy" needs to make a call and next thinkg you know hes scrolling thru pictures YOUR girlfrined sent you that you didnt want just anyone to see. or some folk do store password and bank account, credit card, info on their BB that they wish to maintain their privacy
