No IMEI/ESN number?
Sorry if this is a totally stupid question, but I just got my first BlackBerry (BlackBerry Pearl 8130) yesterday and need help with something. I'm trying to sign up for the Owners Lounge, and I've done both methods to find my IMEI/ESN number. It's not under the battery, or under options -> status. Am I doing something wrong, or do Pearls not have an IMEI/ESN number?
Thanks in advance! - 03-04-2009, 08:58 AM #2
on my pearl, under options> status it says
signal
file free
pin
esn (dec)
esn (hex)
note the last two are ESN numbers. what does yours say?

Under options, status, the imei number is 15 digits long and should be directly under the pin number. If your imei number doesn't appear anywhere you need to contact your carrier.

That doesn't make sense, all blackberries have an ESN number. It should be on the white sticker underneath the battery.
Are you sure this is a legit device?
Is the device activated on Verizon? Maybe it doesn't show in the options-status screen until it's activated? One person can make a difference.

I am also having problems with this. I just bought a curve on Tuesday at verizon. My pearl has an esn number on it. But this curve only has the MEID in dec and hex format. Same way under the battery.. Whats up with this? Anyone else have this problem?

This is not a problem. The MEID is the equivalent identifier to the IMEI and ESN

The meid works the same as the ran for activating the phone. There is no converting necessary
