Look in your status, and you should see either ESN (older CDMA device with Electronic Serial Number), or MEID (newer CDMA with Mobile Equipment ID like a GSM uses).
I would like to second this question. I'm still running .77 on my Vzw Pearl and I'm wondering if there are enough substantial improvements to warrant an upgrade.
I seem to be having issues making this upgrade. I've successfully upgraded my 8130 from 4.2 to its current 4.5.0.131 through several steps in between. However, I cannot upgrade to 4.5.0.160. I have deleted the vendor.xml file and am using the Desktop Manager 5.0 on two computers, one running Vista and the other XP but they both have the same issue. The AppLoader either says there are no updates available or locks up in the search process. When it locks up, I try to exit the DM and it pops up with a list of Device options listed the 160 but indicating the 131 is "preferred." When I select the 160 software, it runs for a few seconds then says that my phone is up to date even though it has not upgraded to 4.5.0.160. Any suggestions??
I sure hope this is better than the 4.5.0.138. I had that one on my phone for about a week now, and the memory was just.. UGH! It was leaking memory like crazy. Even when answering my calls it was extremely slow in connecting. My EVDO was iffy with it too, which that's probably US Cellular still working on EVDO in my area. Hope the .160 works a LOT better! Will let everyone know. Thanks BBW!
I'm getting message "No software update is required for your device." while trying to update. I had the same issue with the previous firmware. I have Desktop Manager 5.0 and I deleted vendor.xml file. What else am I missing?
