For install instruction to load any carrier 8110 OS on your BB:
1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader (dont need to if your on At&t)
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.06-13-09 11:46 AMLike 0 - Install it last night. I have never been able to install 4.5 on my att 8110 but this version worked at last. I now have all the good stuff.06-13-09 03:17 PMLike 0
- .124 and .252 works grand for me. I am sure I saw a multilanguage and an east asia one of this version, but chose the former as seem to run better on Multilang.06-13-09 03:40 PMLike 0

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-13-09 08:38 PMLike 0 - It worked great. Kept all my old apps. Added security make me ok google maps for the GPS but easily done. html email, flash, etc. I could not update till this new version came out. Give it a shot.06-14-09 01:01 AMLike 0
- i was getting that message on the earlier software upgrades, but this one worked fine for me. everything went through without a problem06-14-09 09:11 AMLike 0
- OMG!!! FINALLY! FINALLY! I've been trying to get 4.5 on my Pearl since it came out last year! I even got a warranty replacement that still wouldn't take 4.5! Now I might actually use this baby more often Although I have to admit, all the nuked Berry recoveries made me really good at OS upgrades06-14-09 11:51 AMLike 0
- OK... Phew...it installed and phone is operational... I bricked my wife's BB last month and was not sure this would work. Kinda scared me cause it took about 10 minutes to initialize. Its now been up for about 11 minutes from the install and has a lag similar to running the browser, Slacker, and yahoo all at once. Maybe it will go away soon when the phone settles in and calms down a little. otherwise I also have lots more memory available now! About 4mb higher! I will post again with my opinion after I have played with the phone some more...06-14-09 11:57 PMLike 0

So, short answer: doesn't hurt to keep; doesn't hurt to delete However, it wasn't supposed to load the AT&T branded OS on your non-AT&T branded Berry. If it worked then...sweet! Eh!

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-24-09 02:30 AMLike 0 - Nice! When I'll find some time, I will reload the OS with deleted vendor.xml.
Thanx!
The vendor.xml is basicaly a tag that tells Desktop Manager "This OS is for AT&T, don't load it on Rogers branded Berry's". We delete the vendor.xml so we can use any carriers branded OS on any carriers branded Berry (same device model)
