I've got an 8130 on Alltel that has been okay, but not happy with playing the memory games to keep it running smooth and needing to severely limit my apps. It is now out of contract so I am considering trying for a new phone. Price may be an issue and the thought of a full keyboard sounds nice.

So here are the current options:

Flip 8230 ($20)
Curve 8330 ($free)
Curve 8530 ($40)
Tour 9630 ($100)

The price of the 8330 is appealing, but it is older. The 8530 sounds good with Wi-Fi and OS 5, but the reviews seem mixed. The flip would be nice to stick in the pocket, but not sure if there are enough changes from the 8130 to bother.

Any opinions for those who have had a hands-on comparison of the 8130 vs these other models? Kind of tired of the 8130, but don't want to change to something that doesn't offer good reasons to change. Thanks for the info!

I went from 8130 to Tour and never looked back. The big,colorful screen. An actual full keyboard. The speed are only a few reasons! Make the move, you won't be disappointed.

I'd say wait for 9100 or Tour2 aka Bold if you want full keyboard and nicer specs. Won't be too long now

Listen to arjang.... guarantee ya if you get a phone now and see what comes out in the near future you'll have that itch for the latest and greatest. Wait for another bit, 4 or 5 months and you'll be glad you did.

Stick with the pearl,the left and right silver sides are become white.
The trackball protector gone,the blue colour starting to go black but they use to say if something works it must be the pearl.MY pearl.
