So i bought a new housing kit off ebay for my pearl 8130. everything else fits but the keypad itself. i had to use my old pad off my other set of housing. What the problem is that the new pad sticks out on the inside while my old one is indented to fit to the phones motherboard. Any way around this problem? thanks

Sounds like they sent you the wrong keypad. Did you contact the vendor?

yes i did he hasen't contacted me yet though. Is there any difference with the keypad for a cdma pearl 8130?

All 8130 are CDMA. There are differences between the 8100, the 8110/8120, and the 8130.

The 8130 keypad is definitely different from the 8100/8110/8120 keypad. The 8100/10/20 keypad will not work in an 8130 housing.

Nor will the 8110/8120 work the 8100. That's why I grouped them as I did.

ok well the housing i bought was for a 8130 so by rights it should be correct. the vendor must have sent the wrong key pad :/ heres the link to what i bought:

see here's the issue... even in the title of that auction it says 8110 8120 8130. we all know that the 8130 is CDMA nad has a slightly different housing. thus your keypad issues. Im thinking about getting my hands on a broken 8110 and seeing if the connector on the mainboard for the keypad is the same so I can swap my verizon silver pearl's mainboard into a black or dark blue housing from another carrier. I hate silver phones. dont know why, I just do.
