Ok, why all of a sudden do I have 18MB of free memory when the most I could normally get is 15MB..it usually varies between 13mb and 15mb. I went to Options>Status to check my battery life and my free memory indicates 17992820. I did not do anything to the phone. This morning it read around 14mb. Any ideas?

I just did a Soft Reset and now I have 19432672. I don't know why I have this much more memory all of a sudden (basically 4MB more then usual), but I'll take it anyway.

Nope. They were all still there. I have that set for 30 days. Anyway, I hardly ever text (maybe 10 per month). All emails and phone call logs are also there. I never went below 12MB so it never deletes my messages or texts or call logs......at least not enough to gain that much more free memory.

Take the battery out without turning the phone off and then put it back in.

I do a Soft Reset once a week. But when I do, the most free memory it ever showed was 15xxxxxx It's at 15MB because I have installed a couple of themes, some games, and some apps. I've had these installed on my phone for several weeks, so I've done at least 5 resets showing 15mb at most.

That works as well, but it's a PITA for me because I have a Seidio case and it's very inconvenient to always need to take apart the case in order to get to the battery. Soft Reset is much more convenient in my opinion.

    Ha ha ha. Yeah, really.

That extra memory stuff is crazy. There has to be a reason for this I would think.

I installed os 4.5 and was having what I guess is a memory leak. I would have about 14 free and then it would go to about 12 until I did a soft reset. I removed the docs 2 go app and had already done all the optimization steps a while ago....now all of a sudden, I have between 18 and 20. I'm happy about it but it sure does seems like it's out of nowhere.
