Media Sync Problem

i keep getting a error in media sync in which it keeps saying your device is not recognized by blackberry media sync. Please Check that:
1.a media card is installed correctly in your blackberry device
2mass storage mode is turned on for your blackberry device

i have a media card and it is installed in my blackberry pearl 8130 and mass storage is turned on. and it keeps repeating this over and over and in blackberry desktop when i go to music/pictures or videos it says a problem occurred while attempting to connect to your blackberry device.
what can i do to solve this so i can put music on my blackberry pearl 8130
