So the Pearl is great, except when I receive a call the loud-speaker is activated for the first 3 seconds of the call and then automatically reverts to normal. HELP! How do I stop this?

It is a bug in the OS. Which one are you running?

You can find the os version by going to options on the home screen then and then about.

It should be listed on the 2nd or 3rd line. Mine says v4.5.0.89
