Seems I have to do it once a week to clear stuck ball. I've cleaned the ball but sometimes selection doesn't respond and even once couldn't charge until I pulled battery. Starting to think about new BB. Any model people like BETTER than Pearl?

I get tired of the battery pulls too. Though I usually have to to it to reestablish a data connection.

You can replace the track ball, it's very easy.

Shouldn't need to pull your battery to reestablish data. Just turn your wireless off and back on. Battery pulls are just a fact of life with Pearls, and all lower devices. Once a week is great.

I still have my Pearl 8130 and have not had to do a battery pull.

Battery pulls are just a fact of life with a BlackBerry device. Once a week isn't too bad at all... much better than daily like I do.

If anything, why don't you download the free version of QuickPull and just have it run nightly while you sleep? You'll never have those few minutes of downtime when you need to use your phone the most, and you'll be freeing up that leaked memory on a nightly basis!
