So far, so good with my new VZW Pearl. I'm trying to run the battery all the way down to "stretch" it - I've heard this is a good thing. Couple of questions, though (the manual is useless):

    1. I had a blinking red LED that turned to green once I hit 10% battery left. Is that normal? What do the blinking indicators mean?

    2. Should I turn my device off to recharge it, once I drain it all the way down? Or can I leave it on while it recharges?

    Thanks!

You don't need to treat the battery that way. From what I hear these batteries prefer to be topped off not stretched. The LED indicator will blink different colors for different things. Sorry, color blind so never learned what is what but it'll blink for new messages, low battery, etc

I've not noticed a change in the color of the led when its low. But as stated earlier you don't need to drain the battery. Just top it off every night.
