Invalid SIM in my Blackberry 8120
Hi. I just got an 8120 from someone on Ebay who said the phone was unlocked. I have AT&T and when this phone is powered on it says Cincinnati Bell - and at the top of the screen it says Invalid SIM... I'm guessing either its NOT unlocked or maybe its just an incompatible phone... any ideas?

You can find out for sure if it is unlocked or not by following these steps.
Go to Options / Advanced / SIM Card.
I might be wrong on the second menu code for the pearl but once on the SIM card screen, type mepd. You won't see this actually being typed, but after you type it, more info should show up.
If the network says it is disabled or inactive, you have an unlocked handset. If not, the handset is locked. - 08-22-2008, 07:56 PM

It doesn't say anything else when you go to SIM Card options?

similar problem
Hey everyone!
I'm having a similar problem. I bought a phone from a flea market. There is no carrier listed on the cover of the phone. I have followed the steps and it says my phone is unlocked.
However, when I put my Tmobile SIM card in it tells me "invalid sim" and I can only make emergency cards. When I looked at the network (under settings, it says AT&T).
I am not sure what to do. Does anyone have any ideas?
