    How are you supposed to install apps like jad files on the device? Can it only be done by downloading from the net to the phone?
    The problem with this is that it costs money to download to the device. I don't have any data allowance so this is a stupid restriction not to allow jad files to be installed once dumped on the phone from a PC. Almost as stupid as not having a file explorer type option!

    .jad files are meant to be installed from the phone browser. It is
    not a "stupid restriction", it is just the way it is. Also if you open
    the Media Player, press menu and then explore, there is your file
    explorer.

    Either get a data plan or learn to live with the encumbrances of
    not having one, but don't blame the device.

    If you are downloading them to a PC, download the .alx version and install them with your PC.

    If you have files that don't exist as .alx, that is, are OTA install only, here is a thread that may help: http://forums.crackberry.com/f35/ins...-via-dm-43285/
