Default HELP!!!! JVM Error 547 "flash write failed"

OK..... i tried to enable the memory cleaning on the 8130... I did not change any settings already applied to the option.

However, when I tried to use my phone 10 minutes later I see this white screen that says....

JVM Error 547 flash write failed Scroll for available commands:

I mean there is a list of commands.... really cannot type them all... I did try the "reset" command but that did not work, as well as, a simple battery pull!!!! No luck!!

Does anyone have any idea how to get my 8130 back to normal or did it just crash on me?

Banging my head against the desktop in CA!!!!!!

Not sure if you can back up, but I would try using the back up utility in Desktop Manager.

No, the data has been lost on the device. Sorry. Gotta make frequent backups.

Default How to fix JVM 547 Error

All I had to do was scroll through until I got to Secure Mode. Clicked on that and then clicked Reset on the next Screen. This will reboot the phone in secure mode I believe. It takes a while for the phone to load you will see an hour glass turning for about 3 to 5 minutes and then the phone should be fine. Verizon didn't know what to do either, they wanted me to replace the phone (defective). I talked them through what I did over the phone to fix it, and hopefully they use that from now on. Good luck. This won't erase the phone at all. All of my contacts and pictures and songs were still there.

Well I just encountered this error and my first situation that truely required a battery pull. Fine now. I was in JL Cmdr and ready to wipe the phone and then thought maybe I will try the battery pull first. Good thing I did.

Looks like this is the last post with this signature...

Read this post if you have a critical error 547 JVM Flash Write Failure.

I have not found this info elsewhere and wanted to state that I was able to recover from this error ON DEVICE using the scroll thru options (get your reading glasses).

Then using DM was able to pull up the latest backup and restore just the deleted DBs like address book, messages, keystores, etc. In the end result I have about 7 more MB memory than when I started. Cool deal.

I think it was all the logs I lost and chose to not restore. Might be related to heap stack size reduction (discussed below) not sure. All in all it was pretty painless compared to some of the other posts and methods I've read on this. No JL, no wipe, no reload OS, no restore 3rd party apps. You be the judge.
----------------------------

Orig Post:

Back again. I think it was the damn (new) CB app store that did it. It hangs on my curve. (To be fair, I have waaaay too much stuff on my phone. Could have been any number of things. I was playing with fire and found the gas this time)

Anyway, avoided wiping my phone today by a slim margin. Got this 547 error again, but this time the battery pull failed and I got this screen over and over after successive battery pulls. I don't have a PC at home so I put on my reading glasses and read the on screen instructions and you can scroll thru to many debug and fix options. I checked them all out.

One of which I found "delete persistent store" did it. Another I found was "reduce heap stack 6.5 Mb". I had nothing to loose as I was stuck on this JVM error 547 white screen so I did them both and viola got the phone back.

All my apps and themes are still there but no user data whatsoever. Address book, bookmarks, app reg info all gone. But at least I can use it today before I restore it tomorrow. Maybe this helps someone.

Mine still came up with a 547 after trying a secure restart (which failed). So I took the next step and lost a little but not much. No apps or songs. But had they (songs, ringtones) been stored in store and no SD I would have. I have a full post above this.
