I bought a Pearl on ebay but after i connect it to a network, the Blackberry Messenger does not work. A Thech guy told me that the PIN was changed, now i have read articles that it is possible but, how can it really be done?

I did not know that u can change a pin on the phone... I was sure that is part of the phone and can not be altered

Do you have links that prove pins can be changed? I've just never heard this was possible.

i have no idea if it is possible, but that is what the guy told me. he tried everything possible and said that the PIN was changed.

He reloaded the OS, tried with several programs and the BBM wont work

I think the pin is part of the circuit board.

The device switch wizard in Desktop Manager can do this. A guy I know switched his pin from his pearl to his new Curve...

There's no possible way to do this. If so, I'd love some proof. Are you sure he didn't just switch his contacts in DM? I've used the device switch wizard in DM before. It's never swapped my PINs...
