i just got my blackberry pearl and i have no idea how to turn the keyboard light on so if any one knows how to turn it on and keep it please let me know thank you

Pressing any button will turn the backlight on. You can adjust how long it stays on by going to Options -> Screen/Keyboard -> Backlight Timeout.

Sunkast - what LED? The message indicator doesn't work for me, if that is to what you are refrring.

I think Sunkast means the trackball. Ever notice how in bright areas the screen gets brighter and in dimmer areas the screen is dimmer? There must be something that picks up the light...
