I am having problems with dropped calls. I live 3 miles from an alltel tower. I am on my second bb pearl 8130 and still problems. Alltel people cannot figure it out. I thought I would try you people. Most of the time I can visually see the tower and I will drop calls or it is cutting in and out. It is very frustrating. I switched from verizon because alltel was putting out up a tower pretty much right out my doorstep. But now I wish I wouldnt. My wife still has verizon with a motorola razor has one to two bars at the most can talk anywhere in the house. I have three bars minimum all the time cant make a call sometimes or cutting in and out or drop them. Curious for suggestions.
If you haven't done so, updating your PRL might help. Dial *22899 for Verizon. I don't know if it's the same for Alltel, but since they are CDMA, it could be the same.
