Software downloads to a PC are typically exe or zip files. In either case, you need to run or unzip the file and let it install in a folder where you can easily find it on your PC. I created My Downloads as a folder in My Documents for that purpose. Once you've done that, run the Desktop Manager Application Loader, browse to the folder with the alx file, select it, and the App Loader will install the app on your Pearl.
