Which desktop manager version for Pearl 8110?

Hi all,

I am trying to help a friend backup all her Blackberry data, as the 8110 is on its last legs. But I'm confused as to which desktop manager version to get.

Is it 4.6 or 4.7? Or 4.5 even? I know the phone has never been updated with anything since it was purchased in '08.

The main goal is to back up her stuff on the PC and get a new device tomorrow and do the device switch thing on a new blackberry.

Sorry if its a dumb question, trying to help a friend and I'm an iphone user (don't hate me ) who doesn't know all the ins and outs of the BB world.

With your version numbers you are speak of operating systems for the device.

I prefer Desktop Manager 5, over Desktop Manager 6, but that is just my personal preference.

I would get DM5, get the new device and use the 'Device Switch Wizard' and it will take all the data from one to the other.

You can use the device switch in DM6, but as i stated, its a personal preference to DM5.
A back will not hurt either.
