My understanding is that if you delete some of the programs you don't need as well as some extras such as languages that you are less likely to have memory issues. However if later you realize that you really want that blackberry messenger program or that language, can you reload it either OTA or through desktop manager ?
Also in another post I learned that the better way to exit a program is to "MENU" then "CLOSE" rather than push the RED call end button; the latter just lets the program continue in the background and use memory, Correct?

If you want to load the deleted programs/languages back onto your device you would first install the OS on your PC, then run Desktop Manager and start Application Loader. You can then check the apps/languages and they will be reinstalled.

As for the Menu/Close, that is correct (sometimes it needs to be Menu/Exit). BBWeather is one that I know will continue to run and update in the background unless you select Menu/Exit.

Go here to find the OS for your device:

BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

Download it, and then double click the downloaded file to install it on your PC.

I think there is some confusion:

DM is Desktop Manager. You need that on your PC (version 4.2 or higher) AND the OS for your device - whatever version is installed on your device (which for you is 4.3).

    yea... i'm totally confused, ok:

    1) i just got a bb 8130 [sprint] with os v4.3 on it

    2) i inst. the bb DM v4.3 via install CD that came with the phone

do i need to install anything else?

Yes, you need to download the OS for your 8130 (I think I gave you the link somewhere...).

Once you download the OS, double click on the file to install the OS onto your PC.

Search for the vendor.xml file on your PC and delete it (or rename it). That should help.
