anyone know if it possible to set a password for sms text without having to lock out the whole phone? i went through all the applications permissions in security but found nothing just for the txting.can it be done?

there may be application that does this, but there is no way to do it with the basic phone security. Why dont you want to just lock the whole device?

just a pain to enter password all the time when all i really need to keep prying eyes out of is text!!

you can always hide the sms/mms icon as long as you seperate them (via messages > menu > options > general options > SMS/Email Inboxes > Seperate)
