Browser and MMS issues
Hello, I'm new to the site and to Blackberry as well. So here's my story and questions. I got the pink Pearl from Verizon about 3 weeks ago. Well this weekend it started deleting all of my texts and my call log almost immediately. I took my phone to Verizon and they gave me a new one. Now I have a problem. This new phone doesn't have a browser icon. How do I get it onto this phone? Also, related is that I cannot figure out how to set up my gmail and yahoo e-mail addresses on the phone. The setup wizard only gives me the option to set up a work e-mail address. I do believe the last pearl I had also had a personal e-mail option.
My second question may be related to the first but I am not sure. On that first Pearl I had, I could not send MMS messages. I could receive them but got an error when trying to send. So I got my new Pearl, thinking this one might work. This pearl doesn't mention MMS anywhere. It's like it doesn't exist. It isn't an option when in my messages folder or from a pic I was to sent. It's not even in the trouble shooting section like it used to be. Please help!! I love the Pearl!! - 02-25-2008, 04:44 PM #2
We all the love the pearl, and there will be plenty of people on here to give you a hand. But your best bet id to walk right back into the store and make sure you leave satisfied....

It sounds like your new Berry is not registered on the network. Go to Settings -> Options -> Advanced Options -> Host Routing Table then click the 'Berry' button to the left of your trackball. Select 'Register Now' and you should be good to go when that's done!
That's what worked for me! - 02-25-2008, 04:47 PM #4
lild, as to messages, read thru the links in my sig.
As to no browser icon, you have to have your service books resent. Log onto your bis account, the one you set up to get email, then click services books, send.
After you do this, pull the battery with the phone on, and your browser icon should be there, and your mms might start working again.
Verizon BIS site.
